Narrative Description of Project:

The project was aimed to propose the long-term vision for mitigation and adaptation against the global warming caused by GHG emitted because of industrialization and modernization of socio-economic activities over the Asian Coastal Mega Cities.


Description of Actual Services Provided by Staff:

Determined the design rainfalls from frequency analysis of rainfall data. Simulated high water levels in San Juan, Pasig and Marikina rivers in Metro Manila under various scenarios of climate change; reviewed the damages caused by past floods of rivers in Metro Manila; and prepared flood hazard maps using MIKE 11 GIS for different scenarios of climate change.
